At least ten Kenyan protesters have been k!lled and hundreds !njured after police opened fire with live bullets during peaceful anti-tax demonstrations. The incident occurred on Tuesday as protesters attempted to access the Parliament Buildings.
In response to the vi0lence, protesters took over the Parliament, burn!ng police cars and parts of the building. Reports indicate that at least 12 prominent social media users were “abducted in the middle of the night” ahead of the protests.
A police officer expressed his dismay, lamenting that he had resigned after his brother was shot during the anti-finance bill protests. In a notable display of solidarity, s3x workers in Kenya mobiliSed and joined the protests against the punitive finance bill.

Thousands of Kenyans protested against the proposed new taxes by the government. The controversial finance bill, introduced by President William Ruto, includes a 16% levy on bread and several other unpopular taxes aimed at reducing the country’s national debt of nearly $80 billion.
