An 18-year-old from Plumtree is accused of fatally stabbing a man during a party in the border town. Nature Ngwenya appeared before the Plumtree Magistrates’ Court last week, where he faced a murder charge.
During the proceedings, Ngwenya was not asked to enter a plea, and he was remanded in custody until October 2.
According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on September 18 of the previous year when the suspect attended a party in Plumtree. He joined others in drinking beer at the event. Ngwenya observed Njabulo Ncube, the now-deceased individual, enjoying drinks and dancing to the music.
Ncube chose a girl at the party and began dancing with her, with Ngwenya claiming she was his girlfriend. This led to a confrontation in which Ngwenya allegedly dragged Ncube for some distance before fatally stabbing him.
