Tragically, 19-year-old Nesisa Ncube, a student from Mpopoma suburb, lost her life in a hit and run accident along Khami Road near Khami Cafe on October 7, 2024.
Witnesses reported that at approximately 5:15 PM, Nesisa was walking westbound when she was struck by a white pickup, possibly a Ford Ranger or Isuzu, traveling eastbound with the registration number AAE 8118.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop after the collision, but fortunately, another pedestrian was able to note down the registration number, aiding the police in their investigation.
Nesisa suffered severe inj_ries, including head trauma, a fractured left leg, a broken left arm, and damage to her right thigh.
An ambulance responded promptly and transported her to Mpilo Hospital, where she succumbed to her inj_ries shortly after arrival.
Unbeknownst to her family, who had reported her missing, the devastating news of her death came to light only when her uncle identified her body at the hospital mortuary.
Without any identification documents on her, police and hospital officials faced difficulties in notifying her relatives promptly.
The family is shattered by their loss and is now seeking justice for Nesisa, urging the police to locate the driver who fled the scene and cut short the life of a promising young woman.
