Police in Gauteng Province, South Africa, have arrested twenty individuals during the election period.
According to Gauteng Police Commissioner Tommy Mthombeni, the number of election-related @rrests in the province has risen to 20.
The cases include individuals who took pictures of their ballot papers after casting their votes, which is prohibited.
There was chaos in Katlehong, east of Johannesburg, during the voting process, leading police to fire rubber b_llets to control the situation.
Mthombeni confirmed this, stating, “As the community near the voting station, some people had set up tents approximately one hundred meters away and were playing loud music. A confrontation ensued among some individuals, prompting the police to intervene and restore order.”
