A heartbreaking incident unfolded on Valentine’s Day in KwaShobashobane, Zingolweni, as a 22-year-old man, Sibusiso Nxumalo, met a tragic end in a confrontation with his girlfriend’s lover.
Sibusiso Nxumalo, a resident of KwaShobashobane, had planned a romantic surprise for his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day. Armed with gifts of a teddy bear and chocolates, he arrived only to discover his girlfriend in b3d with another man.
What was meant to be a celebration of love turned into a violent altercation as Nxumalo confronted the alleged intruder. Eyewitnesses, who wished to remain anonymous, reported that the confrontation took a tragic turn when the other man produced a knife, fatally st@bbing Nxumalo.
Despite attempts to save him, Nxumalo succumbed to his injuries at the scene, leaving the community in shock over the sudden and brutal turn of events.
The community expressed deep shock not only at the tragic incident but also at the apparent lack of care displayed by Nxumalo’s girlfriend. Witnesses revealed that, immediately after the incident, she continued to enjoy herself at a local tavern, dancing and drinking as if nothing had happened.
“That same night, she had forgotten about her d3ad boyfriend and the one who st@bbed him. She was having a good time at the tavern. I am convinced that she never loved Sibusiso.”
“Imagine dy!ng for someone who does not care about you. It’s painful. It was really sad seeing someone lying there in a pool of bl00d with all the gifts he had brought for his girlfriend.”
Confirming the tragic incident, KZN SAPS spokesperson Colonel Nqobile Gwala stated that the Ezinqoleni SAPS are actively investigating the case as a m_rder.
