The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Development has opened a 23km stretch to traffic along Shurugwi-Mhandamabwe highway.
In a tweet shared by the Permanent Secretary for Information Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana, the Ministry of Transport announced the opening of the 23 km stretch along the Shurugwi-Mhandamabwe highway during the Post Cabinet Briefing.
“The rehabilitation of the Shurugwi-Mhandamabwe highway has commenced, with a 23 km detour opened to traffic and earthworks for the construction of the 23 km stretch underway,” he stated.
The opening of this 23 km stretch to traffic marks a significant milestone in roads and infrastructure development by the Second Republic.
The Government of Zimbabwe is working towards the development of roads in both rural and urban areas with the rehabilitation of Lomagundi Road and Old Mazowe Road in progress.
