Four men, including a father, have come forward to testify against three married women from Lusaka, accusing them of running illicit operations from their homes in Garden Site 3 Compound.
The women allegedly aimed to become the top prostit_tes in the area, despite being married.
“They say they want to be the top three call girls in Garden Site 3 Compound,” said 79-year-old Banda Phiri, who testified against his daughter, Jane Chirwa, 49, a member of the United Church of Zambia (UCZ).
The case began when Chirwa, a maid from Rhodes Park, sued Joseph Tembo, 51, for defamation after he called her a prostit_te.
However, Tembo denied the claim and stood by his words, sharing an incident where Chirwa was allegedly caught engaging in prostit_tion in Lusaka’s Olympia Compound [no source provided].
Testimonies revealed that Chirwa, Tembo’s wife Jane Moyo, and another unnamed woman formed a trio, boasting about their conquests and targeting men of all ages.
In a stunning twist, Chirwa’s biological son testified against his mother, recounting a compromising situation involving an elderly man she was caring for.
It’s worth noting that prostit_tion is a complex issue in Zambia, with many women turning to it due to poverty. However, this case highlights the tensions between individual choices and community expectations.
“She started making his organs stand still and hard,” the son said.
Chirwa’s husband, Raydon Tembo, confirmed his wife’s promiscuity, adding that she had become a “professional bed breaker and homewrecker” despite having 10 grandchildren.
Chirwa’s best friend, Jane Moyo, also testified, confirming the trio’s involvement in extramarital affairs.
“Yes, it is true, we played the three of us,” Moyo said, admitting to her own affair during a rocky period in her marriage.
Before Chirwa could fully defend herself, her father, visibly angry, registered himself as a witness against her.
“My daughter and her friends are prostit_tes,” he said, recounting how they would bring men to his house and even tried to bribe him to allow their activities.
Magistrate Lewis Mumba, presiding over the case, expressed shock at the women’s behaviour, noting that their actions were inappropriate for their age.
“These women are shameless and their characters are unjustifiable for their ages,” the magistrate remarked.
