A horrific incident of gang rape occurred on Saturday night in a maize field in Westgate, leaving a 19-year-old woman from Marlborough traumatized. The victim had met her 44-year-old boyfriend, Tafara, for a late-night rendezvous around 10 pm. They drove to Greencroft to buy food before returning to Marlborough, where two unidentified men posing as security officers approached them.
The attackers took the car keys, drove the vehicle to the maize field, and brutally gang-raped the woman without protection. They believed the victim was a sex worker and demanded money from her, but upon realizing she had none, they proceeded with the heinous act.
Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the incident, stating that police are actively investigating the rape case in Marlborough. The victim was escorted to Edith Clinic for a medical examination after the attackers abandoned her with the vehicle but without the keys.
In times of trauma, victims often require emotional support and care. If you or someone you know has experienced a similar ordeal, seeking help from professionals or support groups can be crucial for recovery.
