In a distressing incident, a 50-year-old man from Seke was apprehended on charges of r@ping a 14-year-old Grade 7 student while she was bathing.
The accused, Tsaurai Kamundaranga, allegedly entered an external bathroom near the girl’s residence, where he seized the opportunity to assault her.
Assistant Inspector Faith Mapisa, the Harare provincial deputy police spokesperson, confirmed the arrest and provided details of the incident. According to her statement, the minor screamed for help during the assault, but unfortunately, no one came to her aid as her parents were not present at home.
After the horrifying act, the perpetrator allegedly instructed the young girl to keep the incident a secret. However, she bravely confided in her father, who took immediate action, resulting in the arrest of the suspect.
