A 54-YEAR-OLD Glendale businessman is battling for life at Concession hospital after he was severely bashed by three men who caught him having sex with one the suspects’ wife.
James Joseph is currently admitted at Concession hospital where his condition is serious.
Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe confirmed the attempted murder case.
“I can confirm an attempted murder case in Glendale where Joseph was caught in the act with Anesu Mutyambizi (18) who is wife to Clemence Cholova (29) and was severely assaulted by Cholova and his two friends,” Mundembe said.
It is alleged, Cholova received a tip off from neighbours that his wife was having a good time with Joseph during his absence.
Cholova teamed up with Paul Mavhurambuchi and Tatenda Tofirei and went to his house where he caught the two pants down.
The trio bashed Joseph with a pick handle and ropes until he sustained a broken jaw, swollen face and bruises all over his body.
After the attack they force marched Joseph to his shop and demanded US$10 which they said was for transport money for Mavhurambuchi and Tofirei who stay in Chiweshe.
Police warned business people not to take advantage of young people by breaking their marriages.
“We are urging business people not to take advantage of young couples resulting in collapse of their marriages and urge couples to be faithful to each other,” Mundembe said.
