Shame Chichengwa, a 61-year-old man from Rugare in Harare, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for the heinous crime of r_ping a 10-year-old girl who lived at a church premises.
Despite pleading not guilty during his trial, Harare magistrate Sandra Mupindu handed down the sentence, suspending three years on the condition of good behavior, meaning Chichengwa will serve an effective 15 years at Chikurubi Maximum Prison.
