The incident occurred on August 30, 2024, when the young woman was asked to care for the accused’s children while his wife was away.
After providing her with ZAR100 to send the children to buy groceries, the accused lured the complainant to his b3droom under the guise of giving her money for lunch the next day.
Once there, he forcibly raped her and wielded a knife, threatening her life if she screamed or resisted, asserting that she should prepare for him to pay lobola for her.

Feeling compelled to seek justice, the complainant eventually reported the crime to the police, leading to the arrest of her uncle.
