ZANU PF has ordered its Mutare district co-ordinating committee chairperson Binali Yard to withdraw offer letters he recently issued to home seekers who invaded council land.
Yard and other Zanu PF members were accused of grabbing council land in Gimboki area in Dangamvura in the eastern border city.
The land, earmarked for a school and commercial stands, was last week subdivided into residential stands and given to 2 000 party supporters for free.
In the latest development, Yard notified Zanu PF cell chairpersons in the district that he was ordered to withdraw the offer letters by end of day yesterday.
Yard confirmed the latest developments when contacted for comment.
“Yes, l have received a letter to say I must stop using the party name,” he told source.
“Also, I am going to Gimboki to withdraw the offer letters after I was given an ultimatum. I will not disobey the party leadership.”
Zanu PF Manicaland provincial chairman, Tawanda Mukodza said he was not allowed to speak to the Press.
