The Johannesburg branch of the Ghanian Church of Pentecost was robbed at gunpoint during service by two armed men.
On Sunday, the 29th of October, during service, two men stormed the premises of the Church of Pentecost and robbed the church members.
In a video that has trended on social media, the pastor was delivering a sermon at the pulpit when the incident occurred. Men stormed into the church and started threatening congregants while taking valuables from the people. The preacher was not spared, and his phone was also taken while a gun was pointed at him.
Everyone was ordered to lie down while the robbery took place, and they did. One of the robbers wore black trousers and a black long-sleeved t-shirt with white sneakers.
One of the church deacons was kidnapped by the robbers and is yet to be found. The South Africa Police Service is working hard to ensure the deacon returns safely to his family and friends.
