1. Unfortunately, we have reached a point where an uncomfortable conversation has to take place. I might be wrong, but for me the problem is that this Kucaca Phulu situation creates associational reputational political damage for my senior colleague

2. This is because, he comes from the PDP cohort of MDCA, which then helped to form

. In addition to this, he features in the background of a video which was recorded just before the sham elections, which shows the notorious & shameless imposter attacking

3. In addition to this, Kucaca also allegedly features on the end of the telephone call in which my senior colleague was allegedly recorded saying the now infamous statement: “anga achapera ega …”
4. Cumulatively, the above sequence of events creates circumstantial evidence which links my senior colleague

to Tshabangu’s antics indirectly via Kucaca Phulu.
5. I am of the view that it was urgently politically necessary at the time for my senior colleague to have dissociated himself from the alleged utterances made in the video. Whilst belated, it still remains imperative to do so as silence creates a vacuum which inevitably breeds speculation, which is in turn filled by political events by the day which are then interpreted without a right of reply! That’s the reality.
6. The situation has then been compounded by the defeaning silence that has then met Tshabangu’s antics since that time.
7. My senior colleague is undoubtedly a towering giant in our intellectual, legal and political architecture, a once-in-a-generation talent but I believe that in this instance his silence amounts to a grave political miscalculation.
8. Kucaca’s proximity to Tshabangu is not helpful to Biti’s cause as it will inevitably result in his name being dragged into the raging inferno!
9. As things stand, Kucaca has now openly assisted Tshabangu to field candidates in a process that is clearly being orchestrated by the regime and calculated to bury

as a political force.
10. To make matters worse, early in this saga, there was a letter that was previously issued in the name of Tshabangu and demanded that Biti and Ncube should temporarily lead

11. Tshabangu has now made repeated calls for a return to the 2019 MDCA Congress leadership structure, which would see Biti returning to prominence.
12. Today the same Kucaca is referring to the existence of problems in
@CCCZimbabwe
and calling for dialogue while working with Tshabangu, long after many damaging press conferences and interviews and also after firing the first and most damaging opening salvo – the recall of MPs to benefit the regime!
13. Silence is clearly untenable under such circumstances. It amounts to either endorsing the imposter’s actions via stealth or showing indifference at a time of grave adversity for the movement.
14. The sheer scale of the cumulative circumstantial evidence is hugely damaging. Even if the reason for the silence was the existence of genuine disgruntlement from the feeling of being unjustly side lined, as a seasoned politician, he would know that he cannot afford to be politically clumsy while seeking a way towards addressing any grievances he might have!
15. Any genuine grievances needed to be raised confidentially, independently and as far removed from the Tshabangu saga as possible to avoid becoming contaminated by it.
16. To either raise grievances at the same time as Tshabangu or be associated, directly or indirectly with anyone who is working with Tshabangu and the regime is bordering on being politically naive, desperate or reckless. Rightly or wrongly, I think the longer he goes without intervening decisively and credibly, the more likely it is that his political career will suffer perhaps irredeemably.
