Sengezo Tshabangu and his CCC rebels have recalled 60 more councillors across the country, bringing the total number of recalled councillors this week to 69.
In what is a clear destruction of CCC over internal disagreements, Tshabangu’s recalls are plunging Zimbabwe into senseless by-elections that will cost the country millions of dollars at a time when public services have totally collapsed.
The recalls are being used by ZANUPF to tighten its grip on national political power.
The CCC parliamentary caucus had agreed to establish dialogue with the rebels on Tuesday, but that attempt has been collapsed and scuppered by these new recalls.
Senior Journalist Blessed Mhlanga reported that a new round of parliamentary recalls is happening today.
