In a tragic incident in Bindura, a Nyau dancer was allegedly b3aten to d3ath by his fellow performers following a dispute.
The distressing details emerged during the proceedings at Bindura Magistrates Court, where Enwell Kandere (22) and Edmore Kafuridza (31) faced charges of m_rder.
The court ordered the duo to be remanded in custody, advising them to apply for bail at the High Court. According to Prosecutor Sheilla Kudzai Maribha, on September 17 at Pasango Farm in Bindura, Kandere and Kafuridza accused the now deceased, Douglas Tomu, of wearing their traditional regalia without their consent.
Allegedly, in response to this perceived transgression, the two individuals subjected Tomu to a brutal assault using wooden logs and their bare hands.
As a result of the severe beating, Tomu’s health rapidly deteriorated, tragically leading to his untimely d3ath. Prior to passing away, Tomu had implicated Kandere and Kafuridza, ultimately leading to their subsequent arrest.
