In a significant development today, law enforcement successfully detained a 49-year-old woman suspected of m_rdering her family members to exploit insurance benefits. The operation, executed in collaboration between the South African Police Service (SAPS) and an insurance company, resulted in the apprehension of the suspect in Centurion.
A tip was provided by the suspect’s family. Sergeant Keshi Mabunda and a dedicated team of detectives have been diligently investigating this case for the past two months. Mabunda, selected for his expertise in handling similar cases, spearheaded the inquiry, aiming to uncover the truth behind the suspicious deaths.
The investigative team successfully linked the current suspect to the primary focus of their ongoing investigation. This involved the exhumation of a body, adding a layer of complexity to the case.
The 49-year-old suspect is scheduled to face charges of m_rder before the Mmabatho Magistrate Court on Friday, 17 November 2023. The alleged m_rder initially deemed a ‘natural d3ath,’ occurred in Mmabatho, North West, where a female relative passed away under mysterious circumstances in March 2023. Further investigations have uncovered the suspect’s fraudulent actions, as she had taken out insurance on behalf of her relative prior to the tragic incident.
In 2021, a k!ller cop Rosemary Ndlovu left Mzansi shaking after she k!lled six family members for insurance. Ndlovu was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment for her crimes. Despite facing a lifetime in jail, Ndlovu did not look remorseful or sorry for the crimes she committed.
Instead, the convicted criminal donned a smug look on her face that looked unbothered that she was going away for life. Her story gained attention to the extent that a documentary was shot of her story.
