A 33-YEAR-OLD Plumtree man is in trouble after he chased his ex-wife wielding a kitchen knife demanding sex. The matter came to light at Plumtree Magistrates Courts on Monday, where Bongani Dube appeared before magistrate Joshua Nembaware.
He pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted rape and attempted murder, and was remanded in custody to September 5 for trial.
The State alleged that on August 21 at around 3am, Dube went to his ex-wife Melody Moyo’s homestead and forced her door open. After gaining entry, he demanded sex and was denied. The two wrestled before Moyo fled.
She came back after two hours and found Dube still inside the house. Dube pulled a knife and chased Moyo who ran for dear life.
After failing to catch up with her, Dube returned to Moyo’s place and stole her clothes. Arnold Mudekunye represented the State.
