In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through Bulawayo, a man lost his life after allegedly consuming a poisonous concoction given to him by a self-proclaimed prophet.
Kilason Tshuma, a 42-year-old resident of Bulawayo, sought the services of Emmanuel Nyoni, a 29-year-old prophet belonging to an unnamed Apostolic sect, in hopes of finding a cure for an undisclosed ailment.
However, the spiritual healing session took a fatal turn, resulting in Tshuma’s untimely demise.
According to the prosecution’s account, on a fateful Monday morning, Tshuma approached Nyoni for spiritual healing. The prophet then took Tshuma to his shrine near the Killarney squatter camp, where he intended to conduct the cleansing session.
Little did Tshuma know that this encounter would have tragic consequences.As the session commenced, Nyoni allegedly administered a poisonous substance to Tshuma, claiming it was a cleansing concoction.
Tragically, shortly after consuming the substance, Tshuma began vomiting and collapsed on the spot, losing his life. Nyoni, seizing the opportunity, fled the scene in Tshuma’s car, a Toyota Runx.
In a bizarre twist of events, Nyoni’s escape was cut short by an accident just meters away from the crime scene. A passerby witnessed him reversing Tshuma’s car before speeding off.

However, fate intervened as Nyoni got involved in an accident while attempting to flee, leading to his arrest by the authorities.
Following Nyoni’s arrest, the police launched an investigation, leading them to the location where Tshuma’s lifeless body was found.
During a search, law enforcement discovered a bottle containing a substance similar to the residue of the concoction administered to Tshuma.
Additionally, Nyoni was found in possession of Tshuma’s cell phone and wallet, which contained the victim’s identification documents.
