SCOUTS from six top-flight European clubs are in the country for a talent hunt which begins this Monday at Alexander Sports Club.
A massive talent hunt is ongoing after scouts from countries like England, Israel and Belgium touched down at the Robert Gabriel International Airport this Sunday.
Ahead of the scouting scheduled for Alexander Sports Club on Monday, the European scouts, who arrived in the country this Sunday, are optimistic about finding abundant talent in Zimbabwe.
Maccabi Tel Aviv- Technical Director, Dominic Price said, “I wouldn’t have travelled this far if I didn’t think it’ll be beneficial for the players and our club. So, I’m hoping that there are some good players that we can use here and potentially be Maccabi players in the future.”
“It’s an honour for us to be in Zimbabwe to come and watch all the players coming from the combine and I’m pretty sure a lot of good players, lots of talent,” said Standard Liege scout, Mena Ntoko.
Standard Liege scout, Miany Mwanga said, “They told me good things about Zimbabwe and that’s what I’m here to see, young players and good players.”
“This is the first time I’m aware of that six clubs from Europe have coming to look for talent in Zimbabwe. It allows the local players to showcase their talent to these European clubs and if they play well they can get contracts at these clubs,” said Prime Time Academy co-founder, Dexter Blackstock.
The scouting clinic runs until this Tuesday 13 December.
