The picture which has caught social media attention was shared on X formerly Twiiter by Citizen Coaltion for Change (CCC) MP Fadzayi Mahere. The photo shows two police officers standing by the counter inside Mwos betting shop.
Captioning the post, Fadzayi Mahere wrote;
“Kuuraya nyika kusvika @PoliceZimbabwe yazara kusports betting nekuda kupedza nzara.
We need new leaders.🇿🇼”
The picture has sparked a flurry of reactions on social media with many bemoaning the state of the economic conditions in Zimbabwe. Netizens argued some police officers were now resorting to betting to make ends meet.

these guys are struggling the salary they get cannot do anything, they can’t buy a house. U can see them on roadblocks they collect money from driver when I was in Zimbabwe they demand $4 to each driver who pass . I was in Zimbabwe a month ago I saw that. It shows hunger

To be honest in my own opinion betting must be banned in Zimbabwe,it’s destroying lives and livehoods
