Agisent Security, which was manning Alderbury Flat, demanded payment from tenants for parking their vehicles at the flat.
Residents refused to pay and forced open the gate.
This resulted in a security guard on duty fleeing for cover.
Chiwocha Mavuto, owner of Agisent Security, confirmed that he had to attend the scene armed after his officer was threatened with action by the residents.
“My security guard was attacked and had to flee to a safe place after the tenants forced the gate open without paying,” said Mavuto.
“They have not been paying for some time.
“We started charging for parking space because most of them were abusing the space.
“One of the tenants is gay and he is the one leading the revolt.
“He has turned his rented apartment into a den of iniquity, as several men drive in to go to his apartment.
“We denied visitors parking space at the flat and demanded that tenants pay,” said Mavuto.
One of the tenants told H-Metro that a meeting will be held with the landlords to map the way forward.
“Yes, there were serious disturbances between tenants and the security officer over charging for parking space.
“We are going to meet with the landlords.
“We have not been paying for parking since the charges are included in our rentals,” said the tenant.
A notice for visitors to pay for parking space has been placed at the entrance.
