The Grammy Award winner, one of the finest African entertainers of his generation, was badly injured when his private plan was caught up in severe turbulence during a trip from Brazil to a gig in Argentina on Sunday evening.
The plane was forced to make an emergency landing in the Uruguayan capital, Montvideo, where the 47-year is receiving specialist medical treatment.
Now, Prophet Mellontik Orasi, whose real name is Obey Tichafa Mukanhairi, says the dark clouds are hanging over another celebrated South African artist, Babes Wodumo.
“Even Babes Wodumo needs prayers, a thick black cloud around her now,” he said on his social media handles yesterday.
But, it is his prophecy about DJ Black Coffee that is making waves.
DJ Black Coffee, real name Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, has played at some of the biggest gigs in the world and counts the likes of hip hop mogul, P Diddy, as some of his close friends. He is one of the highest paid entertainers from Africa and has played at such places like Ibiza.
Prophet Orasi wrote on his Facebook timeline on December 16 last year:
“Calling for prayer is simple, if I say pray for Black Coffee and people together with him, pray surely, he will prevail.”
While his prophecy didn’t attract a lot of interest when he posted it last year, it has done so after DJ Black Coffee’s accident.
However, some argue that his predictions are based on common events and trends, and can be interpreted in different ways.
Some have also criticised him for causing panic and fear among his followers by making pronouncements that may or may not come true. Despite the controversy, Prophet Orasi continues to attract a growing number of followers.
A number of his followers posted prayers for DJ Black Coffee.
Below are some of the prayers posted on Orasi’s Facebook timeline by his followers;
