National FM Presenter Washington Marimira, widely known as Bhozhongora, has taken legal action against his ex-girlfriend and seeks to recover both money and groceries that he invested in his ex-girlfriend Nyasha Zenge while making preparations to pay lobola for her in December of the previous year.
Bhozhongora and Zenge planned to get married last December, but Zenge allegedly did not follow through on the promises. According to Bhozhongora, this caused losses as he had already paid for many planned services that day.
Additionally, Marimira has sought a protection order against Zenge, citing claims of verbal and physical abuse. He further alleges that Zenge went as far as sending someone to harm him.
“I noticed individuals whom she hired to attack me, but upon recognizing me, they simply said, ‘it’s you.’ She must return the groceries meant for lobola and the funds spent on decorations, photo shoots, dresses, and catering for the function,” Marimira stated
Marimira has urged the court to prohibit Zenge from visiting his workplace, emphasizing the need for a restraining order.
Zenge, on the other hand, refutes the allegations, contending that they were supposed to be married in December of the preceding year, but the plans were stopped due to her illness. She asserts that any instances of physical abuse were orchestrated by Marimira himself, who accuses her of squandering his money and not following through with the wedding.
“The threats of violence and death are entirely fabricated. The applicant has manipulated the legal system, causing my arrest and now relentlessly pursuing me in public places. I’m practically restricted from going anywhere,” Zenge expressed.
Amidist the turmoil, Zenge prays for a reciprocal order concerning the breach of peace. Considering the conflicting accounts, the magistrate has granted mutual orders for both parties to maintain peace and stay away from each other.
