Since leaving Amakhosi, Billiat has struggled to land a new club. Furthermore, the clubs that were interested were not willing to meet his salary demands.
Now, PSL side, Cape Town Spurs (formerly Ajax Cape Town), are interested in signing him.
Initially, Billiat was practicing with SuperSport United. However, Gavin Hunt opted against signing him.
Thankfully for Billiat, there is now renewed hope of him playing in SA.
“Things didn’t go well for him at SuperSport and he had high hopes that he will be signed. Unfortunately, coach Gavin was not impressed with him. But, it’s not the end of the road for him because Spurs want to sign him.
“I believe there has already been contact with him and it’s just a matter of time before things are made official,” the insider stated on Phakaaati.
Billiat previously played for Ajax when he started his PSL career. This was before he made his name playing for Mamelodi Sundowns.
However, his career went downhill when he joined Amakhosi. The PSL veteran was never really able to reach fans expectations of him. Therefore, this is a new opportunity for him to start over and to finally land a club.
