THE Czech Republic’s Krystyna Pyszkova was crowned Miss World Queen this Saturday in India at an event which saw Zimbabwean contestant Nokutenda Marumbwa only making it to the quarter finals.
Nokutenda only made it to the quarter finals as a fast tracked contestant after excelling in the Head to head challenge in the preliminaries.
She is among the 40 beauty queens who made it to the quarter finals.
The 71st Miss World pageant, which was entered by contestants from 112 countries, witnessed the Czech Republic taking the crown while Miss Lebanon was named the first runner-up.
Reigning Miss World Karolina Bielawska from Poland handed over the crown to her successor at the same event.
Marumbwa is among the few Zimbabweans to have made it through the preliminaries including Vanessa Sibanda who made it into Top 12 contestants in 2009.
