Former CCC leader Nelson Chamisa condemned Zimbabwe’s politics. Nelson Chamisa was Mnangagwa’s main competitor as presidential candidate in 2018 and 2023 general election and in all the elections he turned down the results claiming that the elections were rigged.
In January this year, Chamisa resigned as President of the main opposition (CCC) with the aim of forming a new movement which he thinks that it might remove ZANU PF from power in the upcoming general elections in 2028.
His Blue Movement is already on the ground drumming up supporters especially in Zanu PF’s stronghold areas. The politician took his X (formerly known as twitter) handle account and wrote the following:
“COMPANIES ARE SHRINKING…”
-“Broken politics breaks everything.(salaries, health, education, transport etc)”
-“Stolen elections damage people’s lives.”
-“Bad politics destroys good businesses”.
-“Bad leaders in government shrink great companies”.
“It’s all a manifestation of bad politics. We must fix the mess. This economic mess can only be fixed through fixing our broken politics”.
He highlighted how broken politics affects everything, from salaries to businesses, stressing the need to fix the economic mess through fixing politics.
Meanwhile Chamisa was following the way Senegal conducted it’s election over the weekend. He wrote the following on his X handle account:
“Closely following the Presidential elections in Senegal. Africa must come of age. Elections must be credible, free and fair. Citizens voices must matter, count and be respected. We eagerly await the sweet sound of democracy to echo from this great nation and reverberate across Africa. Welcome to a New and Different Africa”
