A popular prophet who has made a name for himself for foretelling the d3@ths of famous South African individuals has delivered a bleak prophecy for Zimbabwe, specifically for Harare.
Taking to his Facebook page on Saturday, Obey Tichafa Mukanhairi, popularly known as Prophet Mellontik Orasi, delivered a vision he received from the most high God.
According to the prophet, he repeatedly saw Harare engulfed by a flood. While Mukanhairi typically refrains from specifying timelines for his prophecies, he stated that the flooding in Harare would occur within this year, without revealing the exact month. Additionally, Mukanhairi did not reveal whether the floods will affect the whole of Harare or just sections of the city like they did in Budiriro in the just-ended rainy season.
“vision keep on coming. Harareee Swallowed in flooding. this year,” Mukanhairi announced in a post on Facebook.
Although it remains unclear whether the flooding of Harare is literal or symbolic, the prophecy stirred panic and fear among his followers. Many took to the comments section, pleading for divine mercy upon Harare and its residents. However, others dismissed the prophecy as mere negativity.

Obey Tichafa Mukanhairi’s prophecy stirs after heavy rains caused flooding in Dubai earlier this week. The downpours in Dubai resulted in the equivalent of years’ worth of rainfall within 24 hours, causing approximately US$1 billion of damage. The torrential downpours left an airport submerged underwater, roads at a standstill and homes and businesses filled with water.
