On the second day of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League mid week matches, the match between newly promoted boys Chegutu Pirates and Dynamos was abandoned.
Chegutu Pirates were hosting the Glamour boys at Baobab stadium in Mhondoro Ngezi.
Chegutu Pirates fans invaded the pitch in since they went against referee’s decision to award the visitors a goal in the stoppage time.
Donald Dzvinyai’s score gave DeMbare a lead and referee’s decision triggered chaos, which could not be contained at the Baobab Stadium in Ngezi.
This match became the second one to abandoned in 2024 season.
Few weeks ago, FC Platinum and CAPS United match at Mandava stadium was influenced by similar circumstances in which fans protested against referee’s decision.
