IT never rains but pours for suspected illegal foreign currency dealers after they were further remanded in custody pending finalisation of their bail hearing.
The court is yet to hand down its ruling in the matter of the suspected illegal foreign currency dealers who were arrested in Harare on the 18th of this month.
The bail hearing is expected to continue this Tuesday.
The suspects were arrested after a blitz on illegal foreign currency dealers.
In another case, a local mining company director, Christopher Chibwana aged 51 who is alleged to have fraudulently transferred his late business partner’s shares worth US$5 million into his name has appeared in court charged with fraud and perjury.
Chibwana allegedly faked documents and gave false information to the Registrar of Companies to illegally transfer the shares, which left him as the sole owner of the company.
The state opposed his release on bail; hence the matter was postponed to this Tuesday for full bail application.
Meanwhile, 21-year-old Sean Chisaka who works as a till operator at a local betting company is in trouble for allegedly stealing more than US$100 000 from his employer.
He was released on US$100 bail.
