“We are honored to dedicate this day to the life and legacy of our beloved father, Archibishop Guti,” said Elder Sarireni.
“His impact on our country and the world at large is immeasurable, and we are proud to continue his work.”
The celebrations will be marked with a Walkathon and Musical Concert at ZAOGA Braeside, featuring international and local artists.
The UK-based Free to Worship group, known for their six albums, will headline the musical concert, alongside local artists Sebastian Magacha, Fungisai Zvakavepano, Pastor Haisa, Pastor David Mabvuramiti, and Sir Benjamin Rupapa.
The Free to Worship group arrived at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport on April 29, where Elder Sarireni welcomed them.
“We are thrilled to have Free to Worship join us in celebrating Archibishop Guti’s legacy,” said Elder Sarireni. “Their music is a powerful tool for spreading the gospel, and we are grateful for their support.”
In an interview with Showbiz, Deniel Chidziwa, a member of Free to Worship, said, “We are very happy to come and perform in honor of Ezekiel Guti. It means a lot to us to be part of this celebration.”
“We love to spread the gospel through music, and to see Baba’s Kids celebrating this day is a blessing,” Chidziwa added.
The Walkathon, founded by Dr. Ezekiel Guti to promote fitness and healthy living, will take place on May 4th, with participants walking in groups over distances of 2.5 km, 5 km, and 10 km. The event will culminate in an aerobics session led by a renowned fitness trainer.
“We encourage everyone to join us in this Walkathon, as we promote healthy living and celebrate Archibishop Guti’s legacy,” said Elder Sarireni.
The celebrations aim to honor the late Archibishop Guti’s achievements, which have had a profound impact on the country and the world.
He established churches in every community in Zimbabwe and in over 169 nations and states worldwide, built schools, hospitals, and a university, and inspired generations with his legacy.
“We are proud to continue Archibishop Guti’s work, and we hope that these celebrations will inspire others to follow in his footsteps,” said Elder Sarireni.
In addition to the Walkathon and musical concert, the celebrations will include a computer training program for local youth, conducted by officials from the ICT ministry on April 30th at 10 am in Chitungwiza.
A total of 400 youths aged up to 45 are expected to benefit from this training, which will emphasize cyber security.
