The First Lady of the Republic of Zimbabwe was welcomed by the Nigerian First Lady, where Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa was invited for the “We are Equal Campaign,” an organization of African ladies who came together to address gender equality in Africa.
In a cross-post, the First Lady of Zimbabwe stated, “I want to congratulate the First Lady of Nigeria, @SenRemiTinubu, for successfully launching the #WeAreEqual campaign.
I applaud your key driver of the campaign, which is education, that connects all the other pillars: health, empowerment, and GBV. As the Mothers of Africa, we owe it to our girls to close gender gaps.
I once again reaffirm my unwavering commitment to my nation towards the empowerment of the girl child. Through my Angel of Hope Foundation, I offer scholarships to both boys and girls from marginalized communities across the country to fight gender disparities. Every girl child deserves a chance, and when you educate a girl, you have educated the nation.”
