Zimbabwean mixed martial artist Themba ‘The Answer’ Gorimbo continues to fly the nation’s flag high at in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) after defeating American fighter Ramiz Brahimaj in a welterweight fight early this morning.
Known as ‘The Answer’ in the Octagon, Gorimbo won by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) in Las Vegas United States early Sunday morning to make a huge statement of intent.
“Grateful to win and grateful for all those who help me with everything. Thank you all and on to the next one. I am going to be better and do better. Big shout out to Ramiz for bringing part of this journey,” Gorimbo said after the match.
With the victory, Gorimbo makes it three straight wins at the UFC.
The fight was contested almost exclusively in the clinch, where the taller and stronger Gorimbo repeatedly won the battles on the fence.
Brahimaj did try to execute trips and takedowns, but he could not get the MMA Masters representative to the ground, landing on bottom a couple times himself.
Gorimbo continues to enjoy life in the Octagon after making a strong comeback from dropping his promotional debut.
The Zimbabwean starlet has now posted a trio of victories in the UFC to continue pushing forward in the welterweight ranks.
