Jah Prayzah, the acclaimed Zimbabwean musician, known for his chart-topping hits and charismatic stage presence, recently opened up about the pivotal role his brother Nigel played in shaping his life.
In a heartwarming revelation on The Phoenix Podcast, Jah Prayzah shared how Nigel’s introduction to his now-wife, Rufaro, set the stage for his thriving family life.
Before achieving stardom and international recognition, Jah Prayzah was a rising talent in the music industry.
However, it was Nigel who foresaw something more profound in his future. Nigel, who worked alongside Rufaro at the time, recognized her qualities and believed she was the perfect match for his brother.
“She (Rufaro) used to work with my brother Nigel. He is the one who introduced me to her and told me that she was ‘wife material’ then,” Jah Prayzah fondly recalled.
This introduction was a catalyst for Jah Prayzah and Rufaro’s love story. They soon tied the knot and embarked on a journey that has since brought them immeasurable joy and fulfillment, with the addition of four beautiful children to their family.
“We now have four kids together. We are happily married,” Jah Prayzah shared, beaming with pride.
Celebrating Tradition: Jah Prayzah’s Lobola Journey
To honor Rufaro and their love, Jah Prayzah, following African tradition, organized a grand lobola ceremony.
This traditional event was a significant occasion for both families and brought together more than ten relatives and friends.
We traveled with more than ten relatives and friends to pay lobola for my wife. It was a big occasion for both families, and we are still together and happily married,” Jah Prayzah revealed, highlighting the importance of preserving cultural traditions within their modern, thriving family.
