Bakers Inn, Zimbabwe’s foremost bread bakery, is poised to inaugurate a second manufacturing facility in Belmont Industries, Bulawayo, as part of its strategic expansion initiatives.
Last Friday, President Mnangagwa officiated the commissioning of Bakers Inn’s $28 million bread factory, equipped with the capacity to produce out over six thousand loaves per hour.
Addington Chinake, Innscor chairman, stated, “The expansion aims to capture the market in Matabeleland, Bulawayo, and Midlands provinces.”
He further added, “The new plant significantly enhances Bakers Inn’s bread supply capacity, contributing more than a quarter of the company’s output. It has also bolstered operational efficiency, resulting in reduced waste and fuel costs.”
Chinake emphasised, “The launch of the Bulawayo plant marks a significant milestone for Bakers Inn, bringing us closer to our overarching objective of delivering fresh and delicious bread to every corner of the nation.”
Currently, the national bread demand in the country stands at 950,000 loaves per day, underscoring the importance of such expansions to meet consumer needs effectively.
