In a horrifying turn of events, a man’s evening out with his partner took a distressing twist when they became victims of a brutal assault and robbery.
According to a source familiar with the incident, Sibanda and his partner departed from a nightlife hotspot situated on Fife Street, between 2nd and 3rd avenues, on Tuesday, around 11:30 pm with intentions of finding transportation to Entumbane along 6th Avenue. However, their plans took a sinister turn when they encountered two unidentified men along the way.
The two individuals, wielding a knife and a hammer, ordered them to stop and hand over everything they had. Despite Sibanda’s desperate attempts to negotiate with the attackers, they responded with a brutal strike to his face, resulting in a severe bleeding.
The assailants ordered his partner to lie on the ground and then demanded that he engage in a lula lula act with her while they watched. In an act of utter humiliation and distress, Sibanda complied with their demands, while enduring further slaps on his back. The perpetrators then insisted on receiving money from him.
Eventually, Sibanda relinquished R800 in cash, along with his black leather jacket and belt, after which the assailants fled the scene. Shortly thereafter, Sibanda and his partner made their way to the Bulawayo Central Police Station to report the harrowing incident
