Police in Chinhoyi have @rrested a 40-year-old woman, Nyarai Kanungo, for possession of illegal dr+gs and controlled substances. The @rrest was made on May 29, 2024, after receiving information about a suspected dr_g ring operating in the area. Ryan Ndire (26), Talent Pedzisai and Felix Maganhu were arrested at the house for smoking dagga.
According to police reports, Nyarai Kanungo was arrested at a house in Gadzemha, Chinhoyi, following a tip-off about her involvement in the illegal dr_g trade. Upon searching the premises, police officers discovered a stash of 66 satchels of dagga, a potent cannabis-based dr_g.
In addition to the dagga, police also found 24 bottles of Benlyin, a liquid anesthetic, and 13 bottles of Bronclear Syrup, a medication used to treat respiratory issues. These controlled substances are highly regulated and can only be possessed and used with proper authorization and supervision.
The @rrest is a major blow to the dr_g syndicate operating in the area, and police are working to identify and apprehend other individuals involved in the illegal dr_g trade. The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information about the syndicate to come forward.
Nyarai Kanungo is currently being held in police custody pending charges of possession of illegal dr_gs and controlled substances. The case will be heard in a local court, where she will face the full force of the law.
