Advocate Nelson Chamisa, the opposition leader in Zimbabwe, has expressed appreciation for the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) of South Africa’s standards in governing elections.
Chamisa praised the IEC for its professionalism, transparency, and inclusivity during South Africa’s elections.
In a statement seen by newsreportzim.com, he stated, “I am watching the SA 2024 elections results announcement. I am impressed by the @IECSouthAfrica standards and efforts at professionalism, transparency, accountability, and inclusivity. When you compare with Zimbabwe, @ZECzim is clearly a scandal and a shame!”
Chamisa’s comments regarding IEC standards follow the recently conducted election, which was declared free and fair by election observers from the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
