The government has announced that it has lifted the suspension of operating licences for all omnibuses belonging to Swaymo Investments, Wipeco Investments, and Simlex Coaches.
This decision comes after a thorough review and investigation into the matters that led to the suspension of the licences.
The suspension was initially imposed due to concerns over the safety and operational standards of the omnibuses operated by the three companies.
However, following a series of meetings and discussions with representatives from the companies, the government has deemed that the necessary measures have been taken to address these concerns.
The Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Hon Felix Mhona , announced the decision to lift the suspension, stating that the government is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers on public transportation.
“We take the safety and standards of our public transportation system very seriously,” said the Minister.
“After reviewing the situation, we are confident that Swaymo Investments, Wipeco Investments, and Simlex Coaches have taken the necessary steps to address our concerns and ensure a safe and comfortable journey for their passengers.”
As a result of the lifted suspension, all omnibuses operated by Swaymo Investments, Wipeco Investments, and Simlex Coaches will be allowed to resume operations immediately. The companies will be required to maintain high standards of safety and operational excellence, and regular inspections will be conducted to ensure compliance.
The move is expected to bring relief to passengers who rely on these omnibuses for daily transportation. The government’s decision is seen as a positive step towards promoting a safe and efficient public transportation system.
