Sergio Conceição, FC Porto head coach and manager has confirmed that he will not continue in his role with the Portuguese club, which he has held for the past seven years.
Fabrizio Romano, the renowned Italian sports journalist stated that the FC Portp announced his departure.
“Sergio Conceição has confirmed his departure from FC Porto, as expected.”
“It’s all signed for the termination of the contract.”
“He’s leaving after 7 seasons and 11 titles with the club, as he already received an important proposal from Olympique Marseille.”
Sérgio Conceição, 49, took charge of Porto in 2017 and departs after winning three league titles, four Portuguese Cups, three Portuguese Super Cups, and one League Cup. During this time, he became the coach with the most matches (379), most victories (274), and most titles (11) in the club’s history.
Before his tenure at Porto, he managed French club Nantes and Portuguese clubs Braga and Vitória de Guimarães. As a player, his career also included a stint at Porto, where he trained and won three league titles, but he spent most of his playing career in Italy, representing Lazio, Parma, and Inter Milan.
