His Grace, Archbishop Robert Ndhlovu of the Harare Archdiocese, confirmed 32 confirmands at Rhodesville Assumption of Our Lady Parish in Harare yesterday, June 9, 2024.
Missionary Childhood graced the confirmation mass with a poem dedicated to Arch Bishop Robert Ndhlovu praising him of his dedication and thanking him as a gift to the Catholic church. There was beautiful decor done by Mrs Chideme.
The Catholic Assumption of Our Lady church choir graced the Confirmation mass with songs of praise, worship and ullulation. The weather was chilly and the confirmation mass was done in the new church which is semi finished and has modern designs which are user friendly.
Arch Bishop Robert Ndhlovu highlighted that yesterday was also a day to remember the Catholic Ugandian Martyrs who died for their Christian religion. The Arch Bishop taught the congregates to accept new congregates who have been confirmed and that the new confirmands should show their talents in church and Old church members should embrace and support them.
The Arch Bishop taught Catholics not to have the spirit of jealousy and competition when others show that they are gifted and talented in church. He taught the Catholics to celebrate, love and support those who are gifted in church. The Arch Bishop anointed the new Catholic confirmands with Charis oil and he said they should receive the gifts of the holy spirit
As the Ugandian Martyrs were strong and they encourage us to be strong in faith. The Arch Bishop taught that the Ugandian Martyrs are an example to today’s Christians to remain strong in faith even if they face trials and tribulations. He urged Catholics to remain steadfast and strong when faced with difficult situations.
The Parish also congratulated and showered the Arch Bishop of Harare Arch Diocese his Grace Robert Ndhlovu with belated gifts for serving his silver jubilee of 25 years as Arch Bishop of Harare Arch Diocese.
