Rihanna has finally broken her silence and given fans a reason to celebrate.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the pop star revealed that she’s “starting over” work on her long-awaited ninth album, titled R9.
This news comes as a welcome surprise to fans, who have been eagerly waiting for new music from the Barbadian singer since her 2016 album Anti.
The 36-year-old singer, entrepreneur, and fashion icon has been on a hiatus from music, focusing on other ventures such as her Fenty Beauty cosmetics line and her lingerie brand, Savage X Fenty.
Fans have been eagerly anticipating new music from Rihanna, and this announcement is likely to generate significant excitement.
“Music for me is a new discovery. I’m rediscovering things,” she said in an interviview with Entertainment Tonight. “I have been working on the album for so long that I kind of just put all that stuff aside… [but] now I’m prepared to go back into the studio. Now I’m prepared. So, I’m gonna start.”
She then laughed, adding, “Gimme a second.”

“Yeah, starting over,” Rihanna repeated. “But I don’t wanna neglect the songs that I have, so I wanna go back and listen to stuff with new ears with my new perspective and see what applies and what I still am in love with.”
