Chivayo responds to allegations of le@ked audios circulating on social media
Prominent businessman Wicknell Chivayo has denied the allegations related to leaked audios circulating on social media.
Chivayo has responded, refuting the authenticity of the voice notes being shared on social media.
The statement read:
* There are voice messages falsely attributed to me circulating on social media, claiming I have influence over state authorities and intended to facilitate certain payments.
* I categorically deny recording or transmitting these voice messages and believe they were generated using sophisticated technology to create false alarm.
* The content of the messages is part of a sustained attack on my character by two individuals, Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu, who have made baseless demands for payments.
* I will not succumb to intimidation or coercion to make unlawful payments and am prepared for any legal consequences. I reserve the right to take legal action against these individuals for defamation.
* I deny having any business relationship with Chimombe and Mpofu or any dealings that would justify their demands. I have not been involved in any contracts with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, Department of Immigration, or the Zimbabwe Republic Police.
* The fake messages aim to discredit President E.D. Mnangagwa, the First Family, and the legitimacy of the Second Republic. I have no influence over procurement processes by ZEC or any government entities.
* I regret any adverse impact these false messages may have had on government and private sector offices. My only donations have been to the ED UNZA Scholarship and the Angel of Hope Foundation.
* I apologize to President Mnangagwa, the First Lady, the First Family, and other public officials affected by these fake messages. I hold all government officials in high regard and condemn any unethical conduct.
* As a law-abiding citizen and businessman, I uphold the highest integrity and will support a thorough investigation into this matter.
