JOHANNESBURG – Alliances have revealed themselves ahead of the first sitting of the seventh parliament on Friday.
The IFP announced it will be joining the ANC and DA in the national unity government.
And today the NFP said it was also joining a provincial government of unity in KwaZulu-Natal.
The NFP’s one seat combined with the ANC, DA and IFP gives the partners a majority. Meaning they can govern KwaZulu-Natal without the MK Party that received the most votes in the province.
Political economist, Professor Patrick Bond, who is also the Director of the Centre for Social Change at the University of Johannesburg had a discussion with the eNCA.
