A Zimbabwean man was reportedly arrested on June 19th after allegedly attempting to receive accreditation for the inauguration of President-elect Cyril Ramaphosa using an identity document belonging to a deceased person.
The individual, currently in custody, informed police that he purchased the ID from a home affairs official and has been using it since 2000.
The State Security Agency flagged the suspect during the vetting process.
According to Crime Watch Zimbabwe, the man allegedly claimed that he worked for one of the service providers at the inauguration ceremony, which took place at the Union Buildings on Wednesday.
