Tens of thousands of people across southern China have been evacuated, with many more potentially at risk, as de@dly rains continue to lash the region, causing flash flooding and mudslides.
According to sources, more than 100 000 people have been forced to evacuate from their homes as the heavy rains continue to hit Guangdong, Southern China.
Chinese state broadcaster CCTV has reported that at least nine of the de@ths had occurred in the city of Meizhou in Guangdong province, among the hardest hit places.
The Lijiang River, a famous and popular tourist destination that runs through Guilin, saw its worst flooding since 1998, resulting in over 6,000 people being evacuated from their homes.
China is facing these increasingly extreme weather events as climate change takes its toll around all parts of the continent.
