Sungura musician Mark Ngwazi, leader of Njanja Express, has addressed the ongoing comparisons between himself and fellow sungura star Alick Macheso.
In a recent post, Ngwazi reassured fans that there is no rivalry between the two musicians, stating they are not succumbing to pressure from fans who seek to create conflict and comparisons.
“We are not under pressure from some fans who want us to create fights and compare us with other musicians,” he said.
Adding to the buzz, prominent self-proclaimed prophet Obey Tichafa Mukanhairi has predicted that Ngwazi will soon trend, emphasising that his statement is not meant to compare Ngwazi with anyone but to highlight his potential to hit the jackpot in the music industry.
Meanwhile, anticipation builds as Mark Ngwazi prepares to launch his seventh album, “Huzukwende,” on June 29th at Padziva Camp & Caravan in Dzivarasekwa Ext. The event, starting at 8 PM and continuing late into the night, will feature performances by fellow musicians Allan Chimbetu, Peter Moyo, Chief Hwenje, Silent Killer, and many more. Tickets are priced at $5 for general admission, $10 for VIP, and $20 for VVIP.
Ngwazi mentioned that unlike previous album launches held in Harare’s Central Business District, this event’s location change aims to accommodate and appreciate their wider fan base.
