In a devastating turn of events, ex- Dynamos and Zimbabwe’s striker, Norman Maroto has di3d at the age of 40.
The former football player was recently admitted at Avenues clinic with flue-like symptoms and p@ssed away after a short illness, his brother confirmed to Crime Watch.
He had reportedly attended a funeral the previous weekend were he came back with the symptoms.
The sad news has been confirmed by the Footballers Union of Zimbabwe secretary General Wonder Sithole.
Maroto was nicknamed, “Lumumba” was a legend and according to reports, the last player to score more than 20 goals in a season and has maintained the record after 13 years.

The star player broke into the Premier Soccer League in 2002 at the age of 17 and made history.
Fans and supporters have continued to pour in condolences to the dece@sed’s family and expressed their sadness towards Maroto’s sudden passing.
Meanwhile, health practitioners in the country have continued to raise awareness and asked citizens to join hands and curb the surging cases of influenza.
