Comedienne Tyra Chikocho, popularly known as Madam Boss, made a striking appearance at the BET Awards over the weekend, endorsing Zimbabwean fabric and the Zimbabwean bird. Madam Boss stated her intention was to set the Zimbabwean narrative correctly.
“With the Zimbabwe Fabric, the Zimbabwe Bird . My aim was to set the Zimbabwean Narrative Correct. I am Tyra – from Zimbabwe. Thank you Zimbabweans for your support,” she posted.
Among renowned global creatives, Madam Boss expressed her gratitude to her fans for their unwavering support. She shared the spotlight with superstars like Usher, Will Smith, Chloe, Halle, Blac Chyna, YG Marley, Ice Spice, Tyla, GloRilla, Latto, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey, Victoria Monét, and Tanner Adell.
Hailing her tour to Los Angeles as a significant milestone in her career, Madam Boss emphasised its importance in showcasing Zimbabwe’s entertainment industry on some of the world’s biggest stages.

Madam Boss’s career highlights include winning the E! African Social Star award in 2021 in the People’s Choice category. Recently, she was also invited to represent Zimbabwe at the premiere of Netflix’s Bridgerton season three in South Africa.
The BET Awards 2024 took place on June 30, 2024, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, celebrating achievements in entertainment and honoring contributions to Black culture across music, sports, television, and movies.
